Signup tools know who said they were coming. Planning addons carry the roster into the game and bring nothing back. Both are useful — and neither of them closes the loop.

Short answer: character data anyone can see by inspecting you in the game, plus what happened on your guild's raid nights. No messages, no email, no trackers. The code is open — every line of this section can be checked.
