Roster and dings on Discord
/roster list and /roster dings: the guild's levels in a channel, always up to date, and a message every 10 levels.
- What it does
- /roster list posts, in the channel where you typed it, a message with the guild's characters — level, name, class and the Discord name of whoever registered them — and the site edits it on its own when levels change. One person's characters stay together, the main on top and the others with ↳. /roster dings makes another channel the place for dings: a message when someone reaches a multiple of 10 or max level.
- Who sees it
- The command belongs to whoever has Manage Server; nobody else even sees it. The list and the dings, everybody who reads the channel.
- Where to find it
- Typing in the channel that will get the list, or the dings. The same command again in the same channel switches it off.
How it should behave
- The list follows what the companion published: it changes after someone in the guild logs out or types /reload and the companion sends it, within a minute. With nothing new, the message is not edited.
- The characters of whoever used /register stay together: the main on top with the Discord name, or the highest level when the main is in another guild. A character nobody registered stands alone, with no Discord name. Groups go from the highest level to the lowest.
- A ding is reaching a multiple of 10 or the game's max level. Someone who goes up several levels at once gets one message, for the highest multiple of 10 they passed.
- Switching the dings on does not announce the levels that already existed, and someone joining the guild is not a ding.
- Deleting the list's message switches the list off. /roster list after that posts a new one.
- Neither the list nor the dings ping anyone: the Discord name is plain text.
- On a server with guilds in more than one game, the game option says which guild; without it, the bot asks.
- If the bot cannot write in the channel, the reply says so at once and nothing is switched on.
This is not a bug
- The Discord name is the one the person had the last time they signed in to the site or signed up for a raid through the bot. Changed nickname? The list follows when they do one of the two.
- Someone who left the guild is still on the list: the site keeps the roster it already received, as the site's roster does.
- A ding Discord refused does not come back: better to miss a congratulation than to say it twice.
